“Christ Has Set Us Free”
Galatians 5:1
I. Christ Has Set Us Free
II. From What Has He Set Us Free?
From the ____________ of God (Rom. 5:9)
From the ____________ of sin (1 Cor. 15:56-57)
From the ____________ of the law (Gal. 3:13)
From the ____________ of judgment (1 John 4:17-18)
From the ____________ conscious (Rom. 8:1-2)
III. For Freedom, Stand Firm!
Freedom to live and walk in a new kind of power (Phil. 4:13)
To obey with joy and delight (1 Pet. 1:8-9; Ps. 119:111-112)
To have immediate access to God the Father (Heb. 10:19)
To relax in God’s presence (1 John 3:19)
IV. Application
Try to explain the irony of why we try to so often go back to the life of slavery when Christ has set us free. Why are we so easily tempted to obey the law, rather than to live a life in freedom?
One of the awesome graces that we enjoy as a result of the work of Christ is access to God. Share how you regularly take advantage of this.
God has set us free from the power of sin. This means that we don’t have to sin any more unless we give in. How do you apply this truth in your life?
