자유하는 삶(롬14:1-6)

 

·플라톤은 행복의 조건을 완벽함이 아니라 부족함에서 찾고 있다. 그러나 사람들은 대부분 완벽해지기를 원하고, 나보다 더 완벽한 사람을 부러워하고, 완벽하지 못한 사람을 판단하게 된다. 

·내가 완벽하지 않은 것처럼 다른 사람들도 완벽하지 않을 수 있다는 것을 인정하고, 나의 부족함과 그들의 부족함을 받아들일 수 있을 때, 비로서 나도 행복하고 다른 사람들도 행복하게 해 줄 수 있다. 

 

1) 자유하는 삶은 주를 위하는 마음이라면 각각 자기 마음대로 확정하며 사는 것이다. 

·바울 당시 시장에 나와 있는 고기는 대부분 우상 숭배 하는데 사용되었다가 팔기 위해 나온 것들이었다. 따라서 로마 교인들은 그 고기를 먹어도 되느냐 안 되느냐의 문제로 갈등하고 있었다.   

·바울은 먼저 우상 숭배하는데 사용되어졌던 고기라 할지라도 먹을 수 있다고 말하는 사람들을 믿음이 있는 사람이라고 말하고 있다.(1,2절) 무엇이든 지 스스로 속된 것이 없으되 다만 속되게 여기는 사람에게만 속된 것이다.(14절)

·그리스도인의 자유란 아무렇게나 살아도 된다는 말이 아니라 주의 뜻을 따라 살고자 할 때 각각 자신의 믿음대로 살아가는 것을 말한다.  

·그것이 주를 위하는 마음으로 하는 것이면 이렇게 해도 저렇게 해도 상관없다. 붕어빵 장사를 하든 풀빵 장사를 하든 주의 영광을 위해 하는 것이면 무엇을 해도 좋다.(7,8절)

·우리가 주의 영광을 위해 살아야 하는 이유는 그리스도로 말미암아 새 생명을 얻은 성도들은 사나 죽으나 오직 주의 것이기 때문이다. 

 

2) 자유하는 삶은 다른 형제들 또한 함부로 판단하고 비난하지 않는 것이다.

·나만 자유한 것이 아니라 다른 형제도 자유하는 삶을 살게 하려면 내가 보기에 믿음 없어 보이는 그 형제도 사실은 하나님이 받으신 형제라는 것을 먼저 기억해야 한다.(4절) 

·믿음 없어 보이는 형제를 일으켜 세우는 일은 그 분이 하실 일이다. 우리가 어떤 행동을 할지라도 결국 넘어진 사람을 일으키는 분은 주님이라는 것을 잊지 말아야 한다.   *지구촌 최고의 오지랖퍼(Ojiraper)

·오지랖 넓게 이것 저것 간섭하며 내가 일으켜 세우려하다가는 오히려 그런 모습들이 상황을 더 어렵게 만들고 하나님의 나라와 교회에 해가 될 수 있다. 

·하나님께서 우리 인생 가운데 던져주신 모든 문제의 촛점과 해결책은 바깥에 있지 않다. 항상 내 안에 있다. 나의 생각을 먼저 바꾸고, 바깥의 연약한 자를 오히려 긍휼히 여겨주면, 하나님께서 해결하신다.     *신박한 ‘담임목사 축출법' 5가지 

·진정으로 자유하는 사람들은 믿음 없는 사람들을 보아도 함부로 판단하고 비난하는 것이 아니라, 그들의 연약함을 기다려주고, 받아주고 축복해줄 수 있는 사람이다. 하나님 앞에 각자 행위에 대해 자백하는 날이 올 것이고, 그 때에 주님께서 최종적으로 우리의 잘잘못을 심판하실 것이다. 

 

3) 자유하는 삶은 형식과 절차 가지고 싸우는 것이 아니라 성령을 통해 평강과 희락을 누리는 삶이다.

·성경에 분명하게 하지 말라고 규정되어 있지 않은 부분들에 대해셔는 자신들의 믿음을 가지고 각자 믿음대로 하는 것이 그리스도인의 자유이다. 

·그러나 자기 믿음이 옳다고 싸우다가 화평을 놓치면 주님이 기뻐하시지 않는다. 남도 넘어지게 할 뿐 아니라 결국에는 자기 자신도 기쁨을 잃어버리고 스스로 어둠에 빠지게 된다.

·화평의 일과 덕을 세우는 일을 먼저 해야 한다.(19,20절) 심각하게 중요하지 않은 문제를 가지고 싸우고 있으면 그것이 하나님의 사업을 무너지게 하는 것이다.   *cash가 좋은 지 check가 좋은 지 부모 앞에서 싸우는 자식들 

 

학습 및 적용 문제:  

1) 바울은 우상에 바쳐진 고기를 먹어도 되는 지 안되는 지에 대해 어떤  결론을 내리고 있는가? (1,2,14절; 고전10:28,29)

2) 자유하는 삶은 어떤 것인지 오늘 말씀에 근거해서 세 가지를 말해보라. 

3) 나는 현재 자유하는 삶을 살아가고 있는지, 그리스도인의 자유를 오해하고 있지는 않았는지, 자유하지 못하고 있다면 어떤 부분이 걸리는지 솔직하게 나누어보라.

   A Life of Freedom (Romans 14:1-6)

• Plato finds the condition of happiness not in perfection but in deficiency. However, most people desire to be perfect, envy those who seem more perfect than themselves, and judge those who are not perfect.

• When we acknowledge that just as we are not perfect, others may also not be perfect, and when we can accept both our own and others' shortcomings, then we can be happy and make others happy.

1. A life of freedom is living with a heart that is for the Lord, where each person determines for themselves how they will live.

• During Paul's time, the meat available in the markets had mostly been used in idol worship and was sold afterward. Therefore, the Roman believers were in conflict over whether they could eat this meat or not.

• Paul states that those who believe it is permissible to eat meat that has been used in idol worship are people of faith (verses 1-2). Nothing is unclean in itself, but it is only unclean for the person who considers it unclean (verse 14).

• Christian freedom does not mean living carelessly but living in accordance with the Lord’s will, each according to their own faith.

• If it is done with a heart for the Lord, then it doesn’t matter whether one does this or that. Whether one sells fish-shaped bread or flat bread, if it is for the glory of the Lord, it doesn’t matter what is done (verses 7-8).

• We must live for the Lord’s glory because those who have received new life through Christ belong to the Lord, whether they live or die.

2. A life of freedom is not judging or criticizing other brothers carelessly.

• It’s not only my own freedom, but to help other brothers live a free life, I must first remember that the brother who may seem to lack faith is, in fact, a brother accepted by God (verse 4).

• It is God who will raise up those who seem to lack faith. Whatever actions we take, we must remember that the one who raises the fallen person is the Lord. *The world’s greatest busybody (Ojiraper)

• If we meddle too much and try to raise others, those actions may make the situation more difficult and harm the kingdom of God and the church.

• The focus and solution to all the problems that God has placed in our lives are not outside, but within. If I first change my thoughts and have compassion on the weak ones, then God will provide the solution. *The unique ‘Pastor Removal Method’ – 5 points

• Those who are truly free do not judge or criticize those without faith but can wait for their weakness, accept them, and bless them. The day will come when each will confess their actions before God, and at that time, the Lord will judge our actions.

3. A life of freedom is not fighting over forms and procedures but enjoying peace and joy through the Holy Spirit.

• Regarding things that the Bible does not explicitly prohibit, living according to one’s faith is the freedom of a Christian.

• However, if we fight, claiming our faith is right, and lose peace, the Lord will not be pleased. Not only will we cause others to stumble, but eventually, we will lose our own joy and fall into darkness. *Hymns that are considered pious today were once seen as frivolous praise during the medieval period.

• We must prioritize the work of peace and building up others (verses 19-20). Fighting over issues that are not seriously important will cause God’s work to collapse. *Children fighting about whether cash or checks are better in front of their parents.
