주신 은혜대로 살기 (롬12:3-8)

 

·교회가 이 세상에 존재하는 목적은 결국은 흩어져서 그리스도의 사랑을 세상에 나타내는 것이다. 그런데 이 일이 이루어지기 위해서는 먼저 모여서 힘을 공급받고 세상을 섬기는 훈련을 해야 한다.             *챨스 벤엥겐의 ‘모이는 교회 흩어지는 교회’

 

1) 교회와 세상을 섬기도록 하나님은 우리 모두에게 은사를 주셨다. 

·하나님은 세상을 섬기기 위해 모이기를 힘쓰는 자들에게 은사를 부어주신다. 평소에는 은사가 잘 나타나지도 않고, 개발되지도 않았던 사람이 교회 안에서 모이기를 힘쓸 때 그 은사는 드러나고 개발되게 된다. 

·교회와 세상을 위해 헌신하고 봉사하고자 할 때 하나님이 부어주시는 은사는 각각 다르다.(3절) 한 교회 안에는 다양한 지체가 있는데 각 지체 마다 해야 할 역할을 달리 하셨기 때문이다. 그리고 지체들이 각자 역할을 잘 해주면 전체가 건강하게 하셨다.(벧전4:11) 

 

2) 성경에 나오는 은사들은 하나님이 주신 많은 은사들 중에 일부분이다.

·예언의 은사는 미래를 예측하는 차원의 은사를 말하는 것은 아니다. 사탄은 이런 은사를 가진 사람들을 통해 교회가 영적으로 혼란에 빠지도록 역사하는 경우가 있다. 성도들로 하여금 말씀에 근거한 건강한 신앙 생활이 아니라, 예언 기도 받으러 다니게 하고, 신비한 체험을 하게 하는 집회만 쫒아 다니는 건강하지 못한 신앙 생활을 하게 만들 수 있다.

·예언의 은사는 말씀을 통해 하나님의 뜻을 잘 전달하는 은사이다. 따라서 예언의 은사가 가장 필요한 사람들은 목사나 전도자들이다. 예언의 은사가 있는 사람이 말씀을 전할 때 그 말씀은 힘이 있다. 말씀을 듣는 사람들의 심령에 불을 던진다. 따라서 성도들도 설교자들에게 예언의 은사가 부어지도록 기도해 드려야 한다.  

·섬김의 은사는 다른 사람들이 일을 잘 할 수 있도록 조력하는 역할을 한다. 바나바는 처음 사역을 시작할 때는 바울을 이끌어 주었지만 나중에는 그 자신이 바울의 사역을 도왔다.      *디엘 무디를 도왔던 생키, 존스토트 목사님의 비서 프란시스 

·가르치는 은사는 예언의 은사와 비슷한데 대체적으로 예언의 은사가 설교에 필요하다면 가르치는 은사는 강의하는데 필요하다.    *최면술사 같은 신학교 교수님

·권위하는 은사는 권면하고 위로하는 은사이다. 오늘날 권사의 직분도 성도들 중에 낙심하고 있는 성도들을 찾아가 그들을 위로하고 힘을 얻게 하고자 세워진 직분이다. 그런데 하나님은 이런 위로의 은사를 얻게 하기 위해 먼저 자신들이 고난 가운데 처하게 하고, 그 가운데 그리스도로 말미암은 위로를 받게 하신다. 결국 또 다른 환난 받은 자들을 위로하게 하려는 것이다.(고후1:4)               *wounded healer(상처 입은 치유자)

·구제와 긍휼의 은사는 어렵고 힘든 사람들을 보면 돕고자 하는 마음을 갖게 한다. 하나님 나라에서 부자는 돈이 많은 사람이 아니라 긍휼의 마음을 가진 사람이다. 비록 넉넉하지 않을 지라도 항상 긍휼한 마음을 갖고 하나님 기뻐하시는 일에 힘쓰고자 하는 사람들에게 하나님은 더 많이 부어 주신다고 약속하셨다.(눅6:38) 

·다스리는 은사를 가진 사람 밑에서는 평범한 사람도 유능한 사람이 된다. 다스리는 은사가 있는 사람들은 모든 사람들을 잘 화합하게 한다. 다스리는 은사가 있는 사람들이 리더가 될 때, 밑에 있는 사람들도 크고, 공동체도 성장하게 된다. 다스리는 은사를 가진 분들이 앞장 서서 일할 때, 따르는 사람들은 그 분을 리더로 세우신 분은 하나님이시라는 믿음가운데, 리더를 존중하고 순종하는 것이 필요하다. 

 

3) 하나님께서 우리에게 은사를 주신 목적은 결국 교회를 유익하게 하기 위함이다. 

·은사는 나 자신을 위해 사용하라고 주신 것이 아니라 은사들을 통해 그리스도의 몸인 교회를 세우라는 것이다.(고전14:12) 그럼으로 주님의 몸된 교회를 더욱 든든히 세워가기 위해 은사들을 구해야 하고, 그런 마음으로 은사들을 구하면 성령께서 풍성하게 부어주신다.       *위로의 은사를 통해 사람을 살리고 세우시는 권사님

·한 가지 기억해야 할 것은 하나님이 구한 대로 우리에게 주시는 것은 아니라는 것이다. 모든 은사들은 결국 성령께서 당신의 뜻대로 나누어 주시는 것이기 때문이다.(고전12:11) 

·그럼으로 성도는 신령한 은사를 사모하며 구하되, 주시지 않는 것에 대해 불평해서는 안된다. 오히려 주신 것에 대해 감사할 줄을 알아야 한다. 남의 것을 부러워만 하고 자기의 것에 대해서는 불평만 하는 사람은 아무 것도 할 수 없다.      *주신대로 사는 자의 기쁨

·하나님께서 각자 주신 은혜 대로만 살려고 하면 내가 해도 되고 안해도 된다. 내가 못하게 되었다고 섭섭해 하지 않는다. 하나님은 세워져야 할 사람을 세우시기에 남의 것에 욕심내지 않고 주신 것에 감사할 줄 아는 삶이 산제사의 삶이다. 하나님은 그런 사람을 쓰신다.

1) 교회의 존재 목적은 무엇이며, 그것을 위해 우리는 먼저 무엇을 해야 하는가?

2) 본문에 나오는 은사들을 설명해보고, 그 은사를 주신 궁극적인 목적을 말해보라. 

3) 나는 어떤 은사가 있는 지 살펴보고, 그 목적에 맞게 잘 사용하고 있는 지도 나누어보자.

Living According to the Grace Given (Romans 12:3-8)

·The ultimate purpose of the Church's existence in this world is to scatter and show Christ's love to the world. However, in order for this to happen, we must first gather together to receive strength and train ourselves to serve the world.  *Charles Van Engen's “Gathering Church, Scattering Church”

 

1)God has given each of us gifts to serve the church and the world.

·God gives gifts to those who strive to gather in order to serve the world. While some people may not show or develop their gifts in their daily lives, when they strive to gather within the church, their gifts are revealed and developed.

·The gifts God gives to serve the church and the world are different for each person (verse 3). In one church, there are many different members, and each has a different role to fulfill. When each member does their role well, the whole church becomes healthy (1 Peter 4:11).

 

2)The gifts mentioned in the Bible are only a part of the many gifts God has given.

·The gift of prophecy does not refer to the ability to predict the future. Satan may use people with this gift to cause spiritual confusion in the church. This can lead believers away from living a healthy faith based on the Word, and instead, they may chase after mystical experiences and attend meetings just to seek prophecy or prayer.

·The gift of prophecy is the ability to communicate God's will clearly through the Word. Therefore, those who most need this gift are pastors and evangelists. When someone with the gift of prophecy preaches, their words are powerful, igniting a fire in the hearts of the listeners. Believers should pray for pastors and preachers to receive the gift of prophecy.

·The gift of serving helps others do their work well. Barnabas, when he first started ministry, led Paul, but later, he himself helped in Paul's ministry.

·The gift of teaching is similar to the gift of prophecy. While prophecy is necessary for preaching, teaching is more useful for lecturing. Professors who teach in a way similar to hypnosis

·The gift of encouragement is the ability to comfort and strengthen others. Today, the role of elders in the church is to find and encourage discouraged believers, helping them regain strength. But for one to receive this gift of encouragement, God often allows them to experience suffering first so that, through Christ, they can be comforted and eventually comfort others who are suffering (2 Corinthians 1:4).     *Wounded healer

·The gift of mercy moves people to help those who are struggling. In God’s kingdom, a rich person is not someone who has a lot of money, but someone with a heart of mercy. Even if they are not wealthy, those who have mercy in their hearts and strive to do things that please God will receive more from God (Luke 6:38).

·Those with the gift of leadership help others become capable and competent. Leaders with this gift bring unity to the group, and when they lead, both individuals and the community grow. When those with the gift of leadership take the lead, those who follow must respect and obey them, recognizing that it is God who has placed them as leaders.

 

3)The ultimate purpose of the gifts God has given us is to benefit the church.

·Gifts are not meant to be used for our own benefit, but to build up the body of Christ, the church (1 Corinthians 14:12). Therefore, we must earnestly seek gifts to strengthen the body of Christ. If we seek gifts with this heart, the Holy Spirit will generously pour them out on us.   *Elder who revives and strengthens people through the gift of encouragement

·One thing to remember is that God does not always give us what we ask for. All gifts are ultimately distributed by the Holy Spirit according to His will (1 Corinthians 12:11).

·Therefore, we should eagerly desire spiritual gifts but should not complain when we do not receive something. Instead, we should learn to be thankful for what we have. Those who only envy others and complain about what they have will not accomplish anything. 

   *The joy of living according to what is given

·If we try to live according to the grace God has given each of us, we will not be upset if we are unable to do something. We will not covet what others have, but we will be thankful for what God has given us. This is the life of a living sacrifice. God uses those who live in such a way.
