An Unbearable Glimpse of God is Enough
(Philippians 2:5-11)

 I. An Attitude Like Christ Jesus
Our attitudes can be changed by attempting to fathom the true wonder and awe of the great I AM!
Appreciating that God came down to our level in the form of Jesus
Experiencing God’s profound grace and love disarms our hostilities and little hatreds and cravings and desires of this world and transforms our attitude

 
 II. Jesus of Nazareth was a man of Obedience and Humility
Adam grasped upwards for equality with God, Christ came down for us
Adam was disobedient, Jesus was obedient- even to death on a cross
Adam was cursed to death for his desire for more
Jesus accepted his unjust curse out of humility and obedience

 III. Christ was Exalted back to Heaven because of this Obedience to Death on a Cross
We may be made in God’s image but we fall well short of His Glory
Through Christ we are restored to God’s community here and for eternity

 IV. Reflection:
What makes a greater impression on you: attempting to grasp God’s true almighty power and authority through your mind, or attempting through your heart to grasp His profound love and grace demonstrated on the Cross?
Do our human “attitudes” from our obedient sacrifice to God even compare to Christ’s supreme act of love on our behalf?
