What’s the Point?
(I Corinthians 15:12-58)
Rev. Brian Lee

 I. What have we gained? (vv. 12-30)
If the dead will not be raised, our preaching and faith is useless (v. 14)
If our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world (v. 19)
Why should we risk our lives? (v. 30)

II. Don’t be Fooled (vv. 32-34)
Let us feast and drink, for tomorrow we die! (v. 32)
Bad company corrupts good character
Come back to your senses
Stop sinning!
Some of you don’t know God at all.

III. There is Hope (vv. 51-57)
Hope of resurrection
A Mystery: Resurrection

We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! (v. 51)
When: The last trumpet will sound (v. 52)
Hope of Victory
Fulfillment of Scripture (v. 54)
God gives us victory over sin and death through Jesus Christ (v. 57)

 IV. Encouragement (v. 58)
Stand Firm
Always give yourselves FULLY to the Lord
Your Labor in the Lord is not in vain

 V. Application
Think about your response to this question and share with your oikos member. What have I gained in following Jesus? Is it worth the sacrifice and hard work you are putting in?
How can we fight against the mindset of “let us feast and drink, for tomorrow we die” and be fully latch on the hope of resurrection?
Paul encourages us to fully commit to the Lord. Are you giving yourself FULLY to the Lord? If you are not, what are you hold back and why?
