(Colossians 3:17-4:6)

 I. Do Everything in the Name of the Lord Jesus (3:17-4:1)
Between wives and husbands: Submission and Love
Between children and parents: Obedience and Encouragement
Between slaves and masters: Devotion and Honesty

 II. Devote Yourselves to Prayer (vv. 4:2-4)
Pray with discernment and gratitude
Be an intercessor

 III. Conduct Yourselves Properly (vv. 4:5-6)
Walk in wisdom to make the most of every opportunity.
Speak gracefully and effectively: Stepping stone vs. Stumbling block

 IV. Application
Do you think God’s instructions to slaves apply today to Christian employees? Why or why not? 
What is one way you can improve the way you treat each member of your family?  How would your family benefit from your new conduct/speech?
When do you feel most encouraged by your parents, spouse, and/or employer?  How do you encourage others?
