(John 15:18-25)

 I. Keep In Mind!
It hated Me first (v. 18)
I have chosen you OUT of the world (v. 19b)
They hate my Father as well (v. 23)

 II. Why The World Hates You
You don’t BELONG to the world (v. 19c)
Because of MY NAME (v. 21)
Because they do not KNOW the ONE who sent me (v. 21)
Prophecy: Without a Reason (v. 25)

 III. They will have to pay
If I had not come and spoken, they would not be guilty (v. 22)
Now they have no excuse for their sin (v. 22)
They have seen yet they have hated both me and my Father (v. 24)

 IV. The Benefits
Proven Faith (1 Peter 1:7)
Calling & Blessing (1 Peter 4:8-17)
Great Reward (Matthew 5:10-12)
Rejoice and leap for joy!  (Luke 6:22-23)

 V. Application
Have you ever been despised or experienced any sort of persecution because of your faith? Share how you dealt with it.
If you have never been despised nor experienced any sort of persecution regarding your faith, does that challenge you to check whether you truly belong to God? “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own (John 15:19)” Share your thoughts.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because GREAT IS YOUR REWARD in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:10-12)
