Program Outline:
3:00 – 3:30 Overview and proclamation of APA Heritage Month
3:30 – 5:00 Panel #1: “Churches, Mosques and Temples: Faith-based Approaches to Social Services in the Asian American Community” (Rev. Tim Warner, Montgomery County’s Faith Liaison, will facilitate a discussion with a highly diverse panel of faith leaders on the critical roles of faith groups in the Asian American communities).
5:15 –6:45 Panel #2: “A Conversation with Asian American Policymakers: Perspectives on Community Engagement in a Global Economy” (Delegates Susan Lee, Sam Arora and Aruna Miller will discuss the State of Maryland’s economic competitiveness and strategies for engaging the majority-immigrant Asian American communities to advance the State’s and the County’s economic interests).
The Office of Community Partnerships and the Asian American Advisory Group are primary hosts of this program. Hope to see you there and feel free to invite others.
