The Story of Noah, You and Me
Genesis 5 and 6    

 

 I. The Beginning
Your name is “Adam.” He was made in the likeness of God (5:1-2)
Adam had a son in his own likeness (5:3)
It repeats, “Was born, and lived and died.”
The result: They increased in number (6:1)

 

 II. The Middle
Their life span decreased (6:3)
But their sin and their propensity to sin increased (6:5, 13)
God grieved that He had made man on the earth (6:6)
But Noah was an exception (6:8-9)

 

 III. The End
God decides to destroy them (6:7, 13)
But He promises to save Noah (6:18-21)
On Noah’s part, “he did everything just as God commanded him.” (6:22)
