"Give Us This Day!” - Matthew 6:19-34
I. Boldly Declare God’s Kingdom and His Will
For yourself: First surrender, second, submit
Pray through particular concerns in which you will be involved throughout the day
For your family: While your children are young, ask God to reveal His plans for their future in order that you can train them up in the way they should go. Treasure in your heart those things the Lord speaks to you about each child and claim God’s wisdom daily .
For your church: Ask God to exercise His rule and reign. Pray for pastors and those in leadership, faithfulness and harvest (Is. 43:5-7)
For your nation (1 Tim. 2:1-2)
For the world around you
II. Ask for God’s Provision
Utter dependence on God
Spiritual nourishment
Fellowship with God
Fellowship with other believers (Heb. 10:24-25)
Work: Neither too little nor too much (Mt. 13:22)
Obedience in giving (Lk. 6:38; Mt. 6:33)
III. We Need to Do this daily
This is God’s way of bringing us back to Him daily, reminding us of His provision and how we need to seek him daily.
One day’s worries are enough for one day (Mt. 6:34)
IV. What Happens When You Get “Hung Up” in prayer?
V. Application
Have you been praying an hour a day? What prevents you from doing it? What will help?
Have you thought about what can happen to you and your life if you prayed an hour a day?
What have you learned about “Your Kingdom Come” prayer instead of “My kingdom come” prayer?
