Attack the Messenger!

 

“Attack the Messenger!”
Galatians 1:11-24

 

 I. If you want to undermine the message, undermine the messenger.
He was self-appointed
His motivation was to elevate himself
He ignored the law and the tradition

 

 II. If you want to defend the message, defend the messenger (need for a clear
  testimony)
His message (vv. 11-12, I Cor. 15:1-11)
His life (vv. 13-14)

 

 III. God Did It!
According to grace
According to His will
By revelation

 

 IV. The Purpose
To preach the gospel
To glorify God (Look at me now!)

 

 V. Application
The society and the enemy of the Gospel still use the same strategy to undermine the Gospel by attacking the messenger. We can respond by saying that it’s not fair, but that doesn’t change anything. What do you think about Paul’s response to this tactic?
When you look at the present situation, would you say that the integrity of the Gospel has been undermined? What do you suggest that we do in response to this?
God had a clear purpose in calling Paul. Is it any different for you? Are you sure about your calling?
