“To a Great Monster, Egypt”
Ezekiel 29-32

jamie2.jpg I. Why Was So Much Attention Given to Egypt?

The historical background: You can imagine Judah without Egypt.
God’s intention to show clearly who was judging Judah.
God wanted to show who was in control of human history.

II. The Sins of Egypt (A Great Monster)
Because you say (29:3, 9)
It is mine, I made it

III. The Judgment of God
I will put hooks on your jaws (29:4)
I will break the arm of Pharaoh (30:21)
I will hand it over to other nations (31:11)
You will never rise again (29:15-16, 31:14-17)

IV. Application
We can see in this story that to those who much is given, much is expected. How should we apply this principle in our lives?
Humility is not just a virtue we aspire to have, but it is a requirement to receive God’s grace. Share how you’ve been trying to stay humble in the sight of God and what specific measures you’ve taken in order to stay humble.
God rules the nations even to this day. He also rules my life as well. He created me and is involved in my life intimately. How does this fact affect the way you live today? How seriously do you accept this fact? Does this knowledge make any difference in the way you live? How?
